MEMORATION OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN TALLINN

On23rd of April, 2024, at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church of Tallinn, the Primate of the Armenian Diocese of the Baltic States, H.G. Bishop Vardan Navasardyan presided at a special intercession ceremony of the saint martyrs of the Armenian Genocide.

FEAST OF THE HOLY RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST (EASTER) – March 31, 2024

Thefestive liturgy in honor of the Feast of the Holy Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ took place on March 31, 2024, at the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church. After the liturgy the guests joined the festive feast organized by the parish council of the church, which took place at the Armanž restaurant. Easter games and quizzes, traditional food, and fun activities for children and adults awaited them.

Meeting with the members of the parish council of the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Tallinn

OnFebruary 27, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Armenia to Estonia, Mr. Ara Margaryan, held a meeting with the members of the parish council of the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Tallinn, which was also attended by leaders of other Armenian organizations in Estonia. The following day, on February 28, the ambassador also visited the Armenian church in Tallinn to continue discussions on matters related to our parish.

General welfare of the church

Thanks to the power of small steps towards positive changes that we are making together, our church has become even more cozy and welcoming. Several families of our parishioners (specifically: Andranik Stepanyan, Azat Matinyan, Dzhanna Shahbazyan, Harutyun Kyureghyan, Gagik Sagradyan, Sevak Tovmasyan, Benik Pogosyan, Robert Sargsyan, Armenak Minasyan) have, through combined efforts and with the help of generous donations, acquired new chairs for our church.

CHURCH EVENTSOUR PROJECTS

February 13, 2024

OnFebruary 13, 2024, a service was held by Father Khosrov Stepanyan at the Church of St. Gregory the Illuminator in Tallinn in celebration of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord – Tyarndarach (commonly known as Trndez). Following the service, a festive bonfire was lit in the churchyard.

2024 as the Cultural Diversity Year

Estonia has declared 2024 as the Cultural Diversity Year. The year opened with a series of events, one of which was “Let’s Open the Year of Cultural Wealth Together!” held at MUBA (Tallinn College of Music and Ballet).

In multicultural Estonia, the Armenian culture was represented by the Armenian Sunday School Maštots under the leadership of Janna Shahbazyan. Specifically, the musical ensemble YERAZANQ (music teacher Ruzanna Hambarcumyan) and the ensemble of Armenian ethnic dances TAYQ (choreographer Goar Hovakimyan) participated, along with the parish council of the Armenian Church.

New Year’s reception-concert

ThePrimate of the Armenian Diocese of the Baltic States H.G. Bishop Vardan Navasardyan on January 18-21, 2024 on pastoral mission visited Tallinn. Together with the member of the Parish council Piruza Harutyunyan, the Primate participated in the New Year’s reception-concert at the invitation of the Mayor of Tallinn.

PRIMATE MET THE MAYOR OF TALLINN

ThePrimate of the Armenian Diocese of the Baltic States H.G. Bishop Vardan Navasardyan together with the members of the Estonian Parish Council on 19th of January, 2024 met the Mayor of Tallinn Mr. Mihhail Kõlvart. During the meeting were discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the Church and the municipality.

Church events winter

January 6th

On the morning of January 6th, in honor of Christmas and Epiphany, a liturgy and a ceremony of consecration of water took place at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Tallinn. The service was conducted by His Grace Bishop Vardan Navasardyan. In the evening of the same day, parishioners gathered at the Tallinn Teachers’ House, where they socialized, got acquainted, had fun, and danced. The cultural program was organized by the Armenian Sunday School Maštots (led by Janna Shahbazyan)
